When does defrauding the public reach such a large level that the Police just have to act?
Apparently never – when the criminal is one of their “Informants”.
With over 50 complaints by the public, as well as multiple CCJs, the Police always called this long time criminal’s thefts “Just a civil matter” whenever the public reported the loss of their vehicle.
What was amazing was that, in spite of all the clear evidence, much of it being placed in the public area – as Crime Gazettes – the police were, apparently, “unable“* to join the dots. They did nothing to help existing victims and nothing to stop future victims.
*Unwilling?
Finally, once the public calls for action left them no choice they did put forward 10 charges and Scrace was remanded on bail to go to Crown Court in Chichester
As you will be able to see – the Judge was lied to.
It was even stated that multiple fraudster and con man John Scrace was a “man of good character“. This being totally against all available evidence.
No restitution was ever made for the victims and most of the charges were “held”.
Scrace did not have to serve even a month in gaol for his hundreds of thousands of pounds gained through theft and fraud.
Undeterred, John and Angela Scrace went on to continue stealing people’s cars by fraud and committing similar crimes, collecting more CCJs, all – apparently – with the full approval of their friends at Worthing Police.
